Sheriff Morgan: It’s OK for Deputies & Daughters Get Their Groove On

For a small community, Escambia County has more than its share of sex issues. Recently, 2 EMT’s (Doug & Leah Manning) were charged with sexual assault and child abuse for offering their teenage daughters to sleep with Escambia County Sheriff Deputies. Two men were videotaped with the 16 year old twin girls who were the kids of Leah Manning. The deputies were Walter Thomas & Mark Smith–both 40+ years old– and are only named specifically because of aforementioned video on a cell phone. The disturbing part of this situation is threefold; 1. How many other deputies sexually assaulted these girls who were not necessarily recorded? 2. How many other teenagers in these girls’ clique may be involved? 3. Why isn’t the Sheriff’s Department actually investigating this OR rather why isn’t a less corrupt agency investigating this? Do bad kids usually punish themselves?

I have part of an answer. Despite the fact there could be additional sex offenders with badges slapping cuffs on with one hand and slapping asses with the other or more kids that were molested by the men in green, the Sheriff is playing CYA (Cover Your Ass). Truth be told, the “free love” lifestyle is rampant among the Escambia County Sheriff’s office. Sir David is believed to participate in “free love” as well as Rick Outzen, his puppet, who pulled a major political favor out of Morgan by having his girlfriend given a fictitious job upon Morgan’s election as Sheriff. David Craig, Major, Community Policing Coordinator, Communications Director (depending on the day) was also bestowed a job within the Sheriff’s office as a condition of Morgan’s election.

(Damn, I never noticed but they could be brothers!) Surrounded by people indebted to the him, unwilling to live up to their assumed responsibility as well as deputies acting like gerbils crawling all over each other, Sir David doesn’t want his office to look bad. Who would want all this to come out? Definitely not Outzen—his wife and kids don’t know what kind of kink he has in his step. Certainly not the people who are inservitude to Sir David. Absolutely not the people who are screwing each other as well each others’ children. We could take it to the Chief Deputy who is a man of God, right? Holier than though Haines seems inclined to watch Sodom & Gomorrah burn, while he standing by idly. He sees the sins and the sinners but chooses to do nothing to stand up for his supposed values and God. Praise the Lord and pass the popcorn. Should we turn to FDLE, who composed of ex-deputies with buddies involved? Should we look to federal intervention in a region where a criminal informant is given carte blanche to kill while everyone covers it up? Like that really matters in light of a Sheriff who pronounces a “death sentence” over anybody that comes forward. To clarify, “you will wish you were dead if you speak outside this office”. Justice at work people. Who is next on the victim list? Maybe you? Maybe your children? Don’t let these people walk free in your community. If deputies are so sexually liberated to speak openly about their lifestyle in the workplace, it makes sense that they are prioritizing their pleasure over their responsibility. How many on duty deputies rotated in and out of the Manning house? Last count was 10-15. THIS IS NOT OK. There are reasons for ethical codes for peace officers. They are morally held to a standard that we should all live at. Yet they have the ability to commit the vilest of crimes without word one in the news. C’mon! In the Billings’ case, every detail and piece of evidence was dumped into the public and pictures were released to get press. Where are those cameras now? Why isn’t someone hounding the Sheriff to keep the public apprised of the further investigation in sexual depravity and molestation in his own HOUSE?

It Doesn’t Get Any Better than this!

You know when you have someone tell you something emphatically, but then turns around and does just what they emphatically told you they WOULD NOT do, well you just have to relish your good fortune or laugh like hell at the irony.

“Rumors” around the ECSO were that the Perdido satellite precinct office would be closed. Also Chip Simmons was hired to work as Chief Deputy. People had to assume the current Chief Deputy was going to be replaced.

Malfeasance Compounded

Chief Deputy Eric Haines disclosed to me in a Facebook conversation a very important detail to me :

There are no, as in zero, videos of any deputies, including the two who were arrested with the underage girls. There are not even pictures documenting any illegal activity. No one including the girls themselves have accused any other deputies of any other illegal activity. I know you believe there is and have been told there is but it is not true. This truth will come out in trial.

Now there are a number of problems with these statements.

The probable cause warrant to search the house discussed video and photo evidence.
The evidence was actually seized and people were arrested based on this now, non-existent evidence.
If there was no such evidence, on what grounds did the ECSO destroy 4 adults lives without any evidence? Where is the due diligence? (this is rhetorical because everyone is aware there was initially video/photo evidence that resulted in the arrests of these people)

What Chief is telling me here is this:

There is no longer any evidence, albeit by virtue of incompetence or wrongful acts. These victims will not see justice so that 2 deputies can remain deputies.

The natural question becomes how can the ECSO do something like this? What about the State Attorney’s office? It appears the SAO has climbed into bed with Sir David on this because they are trying to QUIETLY plead this case down to misdemeanors instead of felonies. However, it will not be “quietly” on my watch.

I am a mother (who has never lost custody of my own kids, contrary to anything Mrs. Patterson claims) and a human being who cannot help but feel like it is my duty to jump in when I see something this grossly harmful and hateful done to anyone much less young girls who have no knowledge or understanding of the many ways they are being exploited, abused, and re-victimized. How dare anyone take the liberty to diminish the rights of the innocent over the rights of the sexually deviant.

So here’s what I’m gonna do. I am going to repost all the stuff about these predators who wear badges, including you, Chief, because if you don’t stop the problem, then you are the problem.

If you get real still you can hear it, the sound of the bellows coming from the Sheriff’s office. I have been “poking the bear” for a couple of weeks now. I started with Rick Outzen, David Morgan’s mouthpiece and his Public Records Officers. Then with my article on PanhandlePolitico.com, “What is Wrong with Escambia County Law Enforcement?

The Dastardly Davids are in an uproar. Eric Haines, Escambia County Chief Deputy was a bit bent out of shape at what he said in another article in the PNJ, which I used for this article. But here’s the thing? Why get so upset? People do this all the time. I’m just pointing out the obvious. Working under the reign of Sir Morgan, has proven to be a joke. If he had not created his own caricature, no one could use it against him. Mr. Craig is evidently too busy playing with his drone invading the privacy of the residents of Pensacola privacy to notice he was getting looked at under a microscope.

Some people are so enthralled with their own “greatness” that they fail to see what is around them. I think this has been the case here.

The Dastardly Davids

In looking into how the craziness of the “official” state version of the events of July 9,2009 unfolded, one must look at the testimony of the investigators. In a sworn deposition of Chris Baggett and Tama Barber in 2010, these two investigators said that the 48 hours of the investigation, Justin Billings as well as other members of the Billings’ family were the prime suspects. The Escambia County Sheriff’s office had GSR on Justin Billings’s hands, albeit trace, it is still incriminating. They have an abandoned van at a weigh station in Alabama that appears to be the getaway vehicle.

Then a man name James Hartsfield comes forward to say that he thinks his van was used in the murders, as he saw it on TV. This leads to Terri Poff and then to Patrick Gonzalez Jr and Leonard Gonzalez Sr. When deputies showed up at Sr’s house, he had been up for 3 days cooking meth. He freaked out when there were deputies at his door as most men would. Then in the course of investigating Sr and his peculiar affect, another van is found on his property that also resembles the one at the weigh station. This is roughly 72 hours into the investigation.

According to a deposition by Tama Barber, a now newly promoted Sheriff’s department employee, the news outlets were telling a narrative and showing faces of people involved that the deputies had never seen. They had not heard the name “Gary Sumner”, “Frederick Thornton” or many of the others listed except for Jr and Sr. Because of the chaos and the number of hands of different law enforcement agencies, such as the DEA, Homeland Security, ATF, IRS and Santa Rosa Deputies, no one knew for sure who “leaked the narrative with pictures” but the investigators followed the trail of breadcrumbs and got 4 confessions. The confessions of 2 teenagers who almost immediately rolled, Wayne Coldiron and a very high Sr.

Here is the problem, what if someone with an interest in seeing how the pieces fell released the narrative with the bits of truth in scattered within? None of which included the bogus story Justin Billings gave to police about a Colorado gang hit nor the fact he had GSR without a plausible explanation of such. What about the fact the state had 2 red vans? One at the weigh station and one at Sr’s house. The one in Alabama disappears as soon as the narrative of what happened is released.

Before I proceed, let me quote an article from August, 2008, by Rick Outzen:

“We (David Morgan campaign) went into the election day knowing that we were going to win by 10 points or more,” David Craig interjects. The actual margin of victory was 13.4 percentage points, or 3,211 votes. In the 2004 Republican primary, McNesby beat Morgan by 34 points.

“We wanted to bury this guy (McNesby) with the truth,” adds Craig.”

The reason I shared is two fold. David Craig is now the communication director of the Sheriff’s department. He began this job in January of 2009. He also is more locally known for his show on BLAB-TV, “Blue Lights”, the Pensacola Cops show that incorporated Craig riding with Pensacola Police Department until he wasn’t allowed to do so anymore. There was a separation between he and the PPD. One can only speculate but he was persona non grata at the police station for some reason. So he hitched his wagon to the Sheriff’s office.

These are statements that shows the morality of Mr. Craig. He aligned and virtually guaranteed victory for Morgan. “We (David Morgan campaign) went into the election day knowing that we were going to win by 10 points or more.” The problem with this statement is that by the nature of elections, there is no way of “knowing” who will win especially to quote the “spread” (10 points). That tells me that it is a rigged vote. In other words, Craig makes things “happen” and as his website states, he is into “crisis management”. The exact phrasing goes something like this:

As a communications director for the Sheriff’s office, if a narrative came from Mr. Craig to the media on July 12, 2009, it would appear to be legitimate and credible. Mr. Craig also appears to hired jack of all trades. He is a freelance crisis manager. This means he fixes “situations” for clients for money. Could there be a client that had an interest to see this narrative known by news media, but not the actual investigators run its full course?
