The Media Whore Sheriff

Featured

Morgan started his tenure in 2009 and almost immediately got a “big” case.  The night that Byrd & Melanie Billings were killed catapulted Sheriff Morgan to the national media stage. This was “the feather” in his cap.

According to Edward Bronson, a media expert retained by the defense. Morgan was featured in 239 articles in the PNJ in reference to the Billings case and Patrick Gonzalez. That does not count the numerous national TV appearances, including the Oprah Winfrey Show.  Dr. Bronson reviewed 250 newspaper articles from 2007-2010 mentioning Patrick (Poff)
Gonzalez. 11 of those were from 2007-2008, prior to the murders.  Here is an excerpt from his report:

The quotes by the sheriff in this case:

“Among his notable achievements during his first  term in office, were …His commitment to this level  of cooperation and transparency extended to his  handling of the investigation of the Billings  homicide case in 2009, where, through mutual  cooperation with the national media and his  exemplary investigative staff, in approximately 96  hours, 7 suspects were in custody and in 118  hours an 8th suspect was arrested.”—  www.voteDavidMorgan2012.com

The next serious of news exposure did not portray the Sheriff in such a positive light.

“Oh, Baltimore, man it’s hard just to live..”-The Field Negro, April 27, 2015

An excerpt:

I submit to you, though, that it is people like Sheriff David Morgan of Florida who is to blame for our current racial state of affairs in cities like Baltimore, Maryland.

A video from 2013 has come to light showing the sheriff of Escambiaso County, Florida, David Morgan, sputtering on nonsensically about black culture.

Morgan’s bizarre speech begins with a criticism of the term African-American with Morgan emphatically stating:

the blacks who currently reside in the United States of America are not from Africa.”

“I would remind black Americans that you are little less than 13% of the entire population of the United States.”  “Had every one of those people been voter eligible only 13% could have voted for President Obama.”  “If we’re such a racist nation, why do we have an African American president?” [Source]

Lord have mercy! This is a sheriff, people.

The headlines across the internet this created were phenomenal.

Sheriff Morgan Revives “Racist Speculation” “Urban Legend,” and “Junk Science,” to Smear All Young Black Males in Escambia County as ‘Super Predators’CJ’s Street Report, April 12, 2015

Let’s not forget the “Blue Moon/Witchcraft Case”. Morgan made the prophetic statement that “this is witchcraft” about a triple murder purely on the basis of a Wicca book at the suspect’s home. Colossal rush to judgment. I personally contacted nationally recognized paranormal expert, Michelle Belanger, to comment on this statement of the Honorable Sheriff. She made a video to respond.

“The biggest problem in Pensacola right now is you got a Sheriff who is jumping to all kinds of conclusions. He’s creating his own kind of red herrings. …My other problem with Sheriff Morgan is, your average person doesn’t know what a Wiccan is, doesn’t know what a Pagan is. They hear these words from an authority figure, like Sheriff Morgan. What he is doing, either through his own ignorance or his own willful misdirection of the actual facts of the case. He’s betraying the trust that people have put into him……..He is misleading people who he’s their only source for whether or not that’s true. And because he’s seen as an authority figure, they are not going to go out and Google to find out that he’s actually talking out of his posterior in a grievous way that could honestly incite hate crimes.”

Michelle Belanger

I really could go on for days about the attempts of ye olde sheriff to try to bombast everything he can, but I do have other posts on his legacy.

Sheriff Morgan: Wrongful Death?

Two weeks ago today, Kayla Crocker had roughly 48 hours to live. Billy Boyette’s latest stolen car was found close to her home with receipts from Walmart showing purchases of camping equipment. Yet with that knowledge, Sheriff David Morgan opted to not bring in bloodhounds to check the woods close to the abandoned car. We now know that for 2 days, Boyette and Rice were in those woods, prior to invading Kayla’s home and brutally murdering her.18047838_1486432270.8322.jpg

Deputies approached me with information because Morgan was ENCOURAGED to use the resources available that could have ended the reign of terror the community felt. Social media was highly involved and invested in this manhunt. Could there be negligence in this lack of law enforcement action, intentionally ignored by Sheriff Morgan? It is worth investigating to say the least. Should Crocker’s people want more info on the deputies that came to me, I would be happy to put them in touch with said people.

13080202_G.jpg

Morgan’s lack of law enforcement experience was the pivotal factor here, either that or the good sense God gave a goat. Whichever was the case, this was preventable and his decisions were not congruent with catching this guy.  But he did want the media attention he got for this man’s rampage.

636220922944137228-ECSO-SWAT-Beulah-2.JPG

He even went so far as to second guess the teletype from Georgia stating that Billy Boyette and Mary Rice were there. While the standoff is happening in Georgia with someone talking to Boyette, Morgan dispatches a SWAT team to the landfill for a report of a backpacked man walking around.  Even while Morgan is contacted asking him for comment on Boyette’s death, he stammers and is evasive because he still has his men out.  Priceless, Morgan tries to upstage the actual standoff.  He is a piece of work & incompetent to a lethal degree in this case.

Confessions of a Lawman

*This post was written by a deputy at the ECSO.

There is a problem in Escambia County. It is a problem that starts with the ECSO and its administration. The problem is not a typical workplace issue. The problem that faces the ECSO is one of greater proportion. It has become a plague that is reflected in the community. Staff members would want you to believe the problem is caused by disgruntled employees with agendas or grievances or because of the low level pay scale. They would say there are generational or societal differences causing friction within the administration. Point of fact, there could be cases that demonstrate any one of those scenarios. Any business with as many employees as the ECSO will have some cases of bad employees. It just is not possible to have a MAJORITY of employees images.duckduckgo.jpgthat are unhappy or that fall into these categories.  A fish rots from the head down. The most likely cause of the anathema in the ECSO is that the leadership has failed.

David Morgan may have had good intentions when he decided to run for the office he now holds. He likely believed that his ideas would improve our community. His vision was based in the understanding that he had from the point of view he could have as a civilian.  I say civilian because he never had any LEO certification, training or experience enforcing the law. He has shifted that stance from outside civilian to now assert experience via uncorroborated military service. Please never make the mistake of believing he had any law enforcement experience based on the jobs he performed in the Air Force. One could not claim to be a chef because they can microwave a frozen burrito to perfection.

Becoming a law enforcement officer takes much dedication and commitment. It takes the ability to apply yourself to a change the way you view everything you ever learned. You understand that the authority that is given to you is a huge responsibility. You must learn to use the power that comes with being an effective law enforcement officer so the best outcome is reached even in the most difficult of circumstances. Morgan never had the opportunity to discover the path that leads an officer to the good even if there is only evil lurking along that path. The ability to make good choices isn’t taught in a classroom. It is impossible to read about the correct way to reached desired goals. Accomplishments are gained through experience and exposure to the real-life situations that are encountered each day as a law enforcement officer. Often the best lessons are taught through making a mistake.

Early into Morgan’s “career” as a law enforcement officer he was thrust into a very rare type of case for any officer. A murder with multiple victims. Morgan found himself in the spotlight. The cameras and lights in his face. All attention given to his every word. His one liners taken as candid talk from a law enforcement professional. Very sexy to hear the story but could not be further from the truth.  Morgan got the opportunity to narrate a story contrived without all the facts in record time with a record number of suspects. Any seasoned officer with experience with homicide investigations will tell you that the case was too complex to unfold in this fashion under the scrutiny of the press and the community given all the factors involved. It was implausible at best to wrap the case up that quickly and self-serving and malicious at worst. But everyone liked him. The media loved his persona and bought the shoddy result without so much as a second glance. Morgan’s MO is to define a narrative from the onset then when facts come in, they are bent to fit the narrative. That’s what rookies do. The facts are supposed to structure the narrative. But Morgan is a storyteller. He tells a story, such as the humdinger or the “ritual” witch killing. The story led the investigation in both cases.  The only things investigated were those things that went along with the story. There is no justice in that and by the way, how is that police work?

Morgan was given a taste of fame and importance. He began to believe he was the person that the media made him out to be. This is where the story takes a sad twist. Morgan started to act as his presence bestowed favor to the ECSO. Morgan believed he was such a capable individual he could understand a job in only a few months that takes veteran officers decades to fully understand. He believed he was beyond any person that has ever walked through the doors of the ECSO. Morgan sealed his destiny when he allowed his ego to guide his actions.

Take a moment to ask yourself a few questions. List all the accomplishments that are a positive result of Morgan and his leadership since being elected into office. I would guarantee that the first thought that came to your mind was either a campaign effort to lock your doors or that Escambia County was in the top spot for crime in Florida. Neither should be on your list. Telling citizens to lock the car door is not law enforcement it is common sense. Escambia County did not get to the top spot in crime because our doors were unlocked. Our county is at the top because we have robberies, murders, burglaries, and so many other violent crimes in our community.

Give one example of what David Morgan has done to decrease crime in this county. You could not say he has the manpower up. Our county has less experience on the street now than ever in the history of the agency.  Our officers are working with less training and less guidance than should be allowed. There is not a doubt that Eric Haines would argue that the agency has more training than ever before and give you a total number of hours each officer spends a year in training. Understand that artificially inflating hours of training does not mean that the training is useful or beneficial to our community. It can be information to rely on when you are making a pitch to create the illusion that you have been useful in the leadership of the ECSO.  It sounds amazing when you are on a radio show several times a week for convincing the public this agency-our agency–is above all others. I question why there needs to be constant reminders of why I should feel safe and not just feel safe.

The truth is our agency has developed into a public relations machine to further the iconic David Morgan and his celebrity status. We hire news reporters and public relation assistants. We have numerous radio and television programs. We have a studio that is dedicated to the production of scripted news reports and propaganda created by the Morgan machine. Why? Criminals will not be deterred by the “top cop” being popular. A criminal is reluctant to commit crimes when a law enforcement agency is strong on the enforcement of laws. If Morgan had performed as a law enforcement officer he would not have to be told that. He would know from experience that strong enforcement equals reduced crime. I guess that makes the point that Morgan was not ever a cop so he needs to be told.

This is why crime is so high in the county. Morgan has turned our agency into a public relations apparatus. A sheriff should not be a huckster.

The Media Whore Returns

Blake Fitzgerald and Brittany Harper

I have to admit I don’t quite understand the “Bonnie & Clyde” pursuit timeline. I have to wonder though how it was Escambia County deputies who shot the suspect, “Clyde” in Santa Rosa County with Santa Rosa deputies there as well as US Marshals. ECSO officers have been notorious to shoot first out of lack of training.  I don’t know think that is the case; however, it has me wondering how they were the dominant agency in this shootout while they were out of jurisdiction with other in-jurisdiction and superior officers there on the scene?

I am not questioning the legitimacy but just the protocol that led to such an opportunity for Sir David to absorb the national headlines. Could the deputies have been told that he would have their asses if they didn’t participate in the ending of this story?  I mean, c’mon!  The shameless face time with a robbery victim and the interest in going out to the schools at election time. There has been speculation of whether that robbery wasn’t a staged event for the publicity. If Sir David’s integrity can be questioned like that, why wouldn’t he be so self-absorbed to make sure his agency was inserted into this national case?

But really who cares? It’s election season. Exploit every possibility, Sir David.

The Angry Man@the GOP Sheriff Forum

Wow! That is the only thing I can say.

I read about John Johnson’s speech. It didn’t go as planned. He tried to make a point by asking if women and children felt safe going to Walmart after 9pm. The woman he asked didn’t play along. She said she did…OOPS!

Next I watched Doug Baldwin’s speech.

I was very impressed with Baldwin’s articulation, coolness and value based approach. While I don’t necessarily agree with his politics, he was very persuasive. Hell, one of Ronnie Mac’s biggest supporters told me he was there and he would have voted for Baldwin had the election been held that night. He was that swayed by Baldwin’s speech.

Then I watched this:

This is just an attack on the people of the county. Sir David has lost his shit!  He’s an angry man. He has NOTHING positive to say and basically says “Don’t judge me; I didn’t want this job to begin with”.

To that I say, I agree…you should just move along, because you have just pillaged the people of Escambia County. His reluctance to be a politician was so overtly a lie. He’s always wanted to be the center of attention. His $30,000 smile is proof of that. Plus if he was so reluctant, why is he running for a third term since he clearly feels under-appreciated?  No one buys that BS.

Yeah, you used county money to feed into religious organizations that, in turn, contributed to you. Should we look at each agency you donated to, compare the staff of said organization with donations within proximate timing of their campaign contributions to you and see how that shakes out?

Again he went on about “parsed words”.

i-dont-parseN

Needless to say, my feelings in regards to his speech, was a bit angry at how he blamed everyone and said crime statistics don’t show Escambia County is a more dangerous place. Numbers don’t lie. This is just January – June 2015 compared to the entire year of 2014. Already there is a big disparity that is absolutely unexcuseable.

Mr. Morgan, coming from I’m sure what you’d call, “a coward behind a keyboard”, as a sheriff, you are a liar and a FAILURE. Your job is to make Escambia County safe…no, ifs ands, or buts. The buck stops with you. Can’t take the heat? Get out of the fire or the reluctantly held seat that you didn’t want to start with?

VMO 2016 #6-Sheriff Morgan is All About Double-Talk

Sir David is the King of Contradiction, or Hypocrisy, Flip-Flopery, if you like. When he gets questioned about something he said, his favorite excuse is “I did not say that” or “What I said was taken out of context”. That within itself shows the lack of responsibility for words he careless uses regarding that come back to bite him in the ass.

  1. Running for Sheriff
When Sir David filed for Sheriff, I had to laugh, because he spoke to the Pensacola Biz Net Aug 4, 2011  & he made the following statement:

“I believe in term limits from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet….. You lose touch with reality when you’re spending other people’s money.  So that’s why I’m a big advocate of term limits…..term limits.I believe in term limits from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet… We have to stop putting our county down…we have alot of problems in Escambia County. Take the Billings Case…..I encourage you to follow that case through to end of the last prosecute, then ask for the public record of how much it cost us, the taxpayers. It cost hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions of dollars”

“I would like to do a second term as the Sheriff of Escambia County but let me make this statement to this group as I make to a lot of these groups, I believe in term limits from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.  If I go stupid and run for a third term do not vote for me, do not vote for me…. Because you need to cycle people out of these positions.”-Sheriff David Morgan, 2010

2.  Billings Case:  DEA involved?

Here is an article from NorthEscambia.com that sums up the mystery.

Is The DEA Involved In The Billings Case- - NorthEscambia.com.clipular

Is The DEA Involved In The Billings Case?

July 16, 2009

There are conflicting reports this morning as to whether or not the DEA has become involved in the Billings murder investigation.

“As Escambia County Sheriff, I have no knowledge of any DEA involvement in this case,” David Morgan said Wednesday night. “I have not spoken to any representative of the Drug Enforcement Agency today.”-CNN

But CNN was reporting early Thursday morning that the DEA was on the case. CNN quotes a DEA spokesman in Miami, David Melenkevitz, as saying that the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department did call for the DEA’s assistance.

David Melenkevitz, a spokesman for the DEA, said his agency is assisting with the investigation but would not comment further. He said Escambia County officials have also sought help from other federal agencies including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. —CBS News  July 16, 2009

Even Sir David’s repeater (not reporter), Rick Outzen, who has claimed that Sir David is the best sheriff Escambia County has had in years wrote this:

It has been a week since Bud and Melanie Billings were killed. The seven men who the authorities believe are responsible and one female accomplice have been arrested. The media wants to know why, what was the safe taken from the home and why are the FBI and DEA possibly involved.

CNN is reporting early Thursday morning that the DEA is on the case, despite denials by Sheriff Morgan the prior night on Anderson Cooper 360. They say that David Melenkevitz, a DEA spokesman in Miami, has said that the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department did call for the DEA’s assistance.– Rick Outzen, Rick’s Blog, July 16, 2009

Now if this is a humdinger as Sir David had claimed and the alphabet soup (FBI, ATF, FBI & Homeland Security) were participants, then Sir David may not be the BIGGEST LIAR IN ESCAMBIA COUNTY (He’d still be in the top 10, if not the top 5). Here’s why I say that, they actually responded.  Now anyone can call these agencies and ask for assistance, but they may not actually show up. But there are credible sources saying, as early as 1 week after the murders that the DEA was brought in, contrary to Morgan’s statement.  There appears to be solid reasons that the DEA was a participant in this case.

To end speculation, I have proof of their involvement.

Corroborated by an FBI source, there were 2 ACTIVE DEA investigations into Byrd & Melanie Billings at the time of their murder. DEA only gets involved on high level drug cases. They don’t show up for insignificant possession/personal use cases where there is no chance of trafficking. Their presence speaks for itself and is contrary to Sir David’s version of events.

*Also, these DEA cases, one initiated in 2005 and the other in 2007, are still, TODAY, active investigations.

Think about that for a moment.

3.  Super Predator/ Thug Culture is the Downfall of America

“I take issue with the time African Americans. We are Americans…The blacks that currently reside in the United States are not from Africa. Those sorts of terms society has chosen to use are divisive in nature. So what are the issues in the minority organizations within Escambia County? Many are real and many are perceived. I will tell you I think many are perceived. Here is why, again, let’s go back to the history of our nation and where we are today. Not that many years ago, the thought of electing an African American president would have been unthinkable in the United States of America. I would remind African American’s that you are a little over 13% of the entire population of the United States…..If those 13 % were the only ones that voted for President Obama, he would not have won that election….the statistics are if we are such a racist nation, why do we currently have an African American president?”

When asked for a response to the assertion that racism is merely a perceived social problem, Sir David responded with a statement to Channel 3 WEAR that his comments were taken out of context and  that those who propagate information about his rant have “a motive”.

And the best statement ever out of his mouth:

I challenge someone to find an incident where anyone could have said that I am racist.”

The irony is every word he said prior to that statement is a jab at every ethnicity. He uses statistics to belittle the African-American people and remind them they are but 13% of the population. You can add hypocrite to his tile of racist.

CJ'S STREET REPORT- Pastor Lee Middleton's Pregnant Daughter Slammed Down, Hogtied, and Wife Arrested--A Deputy's Tall Tale.clipularDr. James Scamanaci, known for his blog, CJsstreetreport.blogspot.com reported for DailyKos  the following:

In the wake of two Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies firing 15 bullets at Mr. Roy Middleton in late July 2013, which created a national story, Sheriff Morgan delivered prepared remarks before the Rotary Club of Pensacola.  The Pensacola News Journal carried the Public Information Office’s edited version of the Sheriff’s remarks.

Sheriff Morgan:  ‘Muslims are Nazis’

At the 3:45 mark of the uncut version that the Street Report came to possess, Sheriff Morgan, after recommending to his Rotary Club audience reading Winston Churchill’s three-volume memoirs, Sheriff Morgan stated the following:

“And what you’ll find striking, and I find striking by the way, is the policy of appeasement that we go through in an almost a cyclic mode through our communities and our societies.  An appeasement across the board.  We intend to appease crime; we intend to appease political opponents; we intend to appease those who have different religious beliefs than we do.  And the frightening thing about these volumes is this, if you changed NAZI to Muslim, you’ll have a terrific eye opener…”

5. Triple Murder of the Smith Family

eab16-1016066187-ritualistic-killings-may-be-tied-to-blue-moon

In a press release, 5 days after the bodies were found and all news was hushed, Sir David made this eloquent statement regarding the brutal murders.

“It’s witchcraft, I’ll say that right now. The method of the murder, blunt force traumas, slit throats, positions of bodies and then our person of interest has some ties to a faith or religion that is indicative of that. Those of you that follow any of that will also note that at the time of death we believe on Tuesday it also coincides with what’s referred to as a blue moon, which occurs every three years.”

In response to that ignorant statement, every Wiccan, homeopath, occult personality came forward to refute this statement of “witchcraft”. I contacted Michelle Belanger, occult expert, known for her work on “Paranormal State” as well as her writing on the subject. When I spoke to her she was baffled how a person of Sir David’s authority and assumed intelligence would make such a reckless statement. She made 2 videos for YouTube regarding Sir David.  Here is a bit of what she had to say:

“The biggest problem in Pensacola right now is you got a Sheriff who is jumping to all kinds of conclusions. Sir David’s response: “It was a misconception.”

Sheriff- 'Witchcraft' Comments a Misconception - YouTube.clipular

**Sidenote: Morgan claimed the family was reclusive and that hampered investigation. When WKRG Channel 5 out of Mobile interviewed the Smith Family about the witchcraft factor, the family denied there was anything suggestive of Blue Moon or witchcraft based on the information given to them. They also refuted Morgan’s claim of the family being reclusive.**

The fact in this murder is that one of the sons is a cybercrimes expert at Homeland Security. Sir David said that they KNOW that fact wasn’t the motive for murder. He still says that theory was still “in play,” but that his office had also investigated financial gain and Richard Smith’s connection to the Department of Homeland Security as possible motives.

Specifically, the way he phrased it in an exclusive with WEAR-TV 3’s Amber Southard, who is now his new Public Information Officer that out earns most lietenants at the ECSO, was there were three possible motives: National security, witchcraft, monetary gain. Two are still on the table, as there were no national security implications involving the death of 49-year-old Department of Homeland Security employee Richard Thomas Smith.

No chance that he’s wrong on the Homeland Security angle  but witchcraft is possible?

It hurt my head to even put that sentence together.

Sir David has many more loosy goosy “out of context”, “misunderstood” or “wrong perception” excuses. This is just the highlight reel, folks.

VMO 2016 #3 Morgan has made Escambia County & Pensacola Look Like Reality TV

#3 Morgan has made Escambia County & Pensacola Look Like Reality TV

Any of those closely associated with Sir David or has been in proximity to him when a live camera was within earshot can vouch for his, “kid in a candy store” persona that makes him the butt of national journalists and late night television. He is a legend in his own mind.

If in doubt look at the following photo op’s that Sir David has been so proud of:

These are just a few of his portfolio.

Even though he is the probably the most photogenic sheriff Escambia County has ever had, he most certainly is the dimmest as well. Here are just a few remarks Morganisms that make Escambia County so proud:Morganisms

First off, late me take issue with the title ‘African American’. We’re Americans. I am fourth generation Welsh. I or my family do not pretend to be nor do we say we are Welsh Americans. We are Americans. I was not born in Wales and the blacks that currently reside in the United States of America are not from Africa. Those sorts of terms that society has come to use are divisive in nature. So what are the issues in the minority community in Escambia County? Many are real, and many are perceived, and I will tell you that I think most of them are perceived and here’s why. And again, let’s go back to the history of our nation and where we currently are today. Not too many years ago, the thought of electing an African American president would have been unthinkable in the United States of America and I would remind black Americans that you are a little less than 13 percent of the entire population of the United States. Less than 13 percent–and now that’s every man, woman and child in the United States of America of black ancestry. Had every one of those people been voter eligible only 13 percent could have voted for President Obama, but President Obama has won two elections as President of the United States. Now what does that mean? That means a whole host of white people, and Hispanic people and Asian people and American Indians cast a vote for President Obama. The statistics are that we’re such a racist nation, why do we currently have an African American president? Why was General Chappie James the first four-star black general and why was General Colin Powell promoted to Chief of Staff and later to Secretary of State? Why do we currently have an Attorney General, Eric Holder, who is also a black American? So I would tell you statistically to anyone who makes an argument that the United States is a racist nation is focusing on specific incidences of where we might have had problems with race relations, but it certainly does not paint any organization or any individual any nation is racist. We have unfortunately, in the black community, embraced a “thug culture. One that agrandises foul language, shooting cops, abusing women….”

“I say this with great sadness, three months ago within a month period, I fired two officers for falsifying police reports. They falsified accident reports. When the information came in, my approach–when I took office, I told folks, I have one cardinal sin and that’s when you lie. When you lie, you’re done in law enforcement. What you’ve done, you’ve indicated to me that you have a proclivity of not telling the truth, what you call perjury in criminal justice system. If we can’t trust you, when society can’t trust you to tell the truth about the facts of the case as you see them, then you are of no use to law enforcement because our society and our criminal justice system is based on the truth. If we’re all about lying in business or government, then what kind of society is that? “

“those of you in the white community must overcome your fear of being labeled a racist. Because that’s what we all fear in trying to open a dialogue with minority communities. It’s when we enter that first juncture of the disagreement we will be called a racist. Anybody want that label?”

“you couldn’t just waltz into a second-hand shop with military memoriabilia and buy a medal of honor and put it around your neck. Why? Because you didn’t earn a medal of honor. That shows such dishonor and disrespect to the men and women who earned that honor through, most of the time, sacrificing their lives. They’ve passed (legislators) it and it’s called the Stolen Valor Law. “

“I believe there must be term limits. IF I GO STUPID AND RUN FOR A THIRD TERM, DON’T VOTE FOR ME. (laughter in crowd). I’m serious. I need to go back out into the real world and learn how to use a checkbook.” 8/4/2011- Pensacola BizNet-Cordova Lanes

Speaking of books about Winston Churchill…”… The frightening thing about these volumes is this: If you switch the word “Nazi” to “Muslim”, you’ll have an intersting eye opener with history and with the way the world is progressing today.”

“those of you in the white community must overcome your fear of being labeled a racist. Because that’s what we all fear in trying to open a dialogue with minority communities. It’s when we enter that first juncture of the disagreement we will be called a racist. Anybody want that label?”

Two weeks ago, two Florida deputies shot 15 rounds at a 60-year-old unarmed Florida man who was looking for his cigarettes in his mother’s car, parked in his own driveway.  Sheriff David Morgan of Escambia County hastily took to the airwaves to explain that “the tragedy of this is the noncompliance to the directions of law enforcement officers….Right now we are comfortable from a training perspective that our officers did follow standard protocols. [t]his is a common occurrence. We live in a very violent society.”–Dahlia Lithwick, TheSlate.com

“It’s witchcraft. I’ll say that right now. Well, again, the time of the blue moon every three years, the method of the murders and also our person of interest is known to practice this.”

Truly I could go on for pages, but you get the point. His words of wisdom, most of which were said in front of a national audience, denigrates the people of Escambia County.
