Previously I have blogged about the inappropriate relationship of Sheriff Chip Simmons and Whitney Lucas. This is no secret affair. EVERYBODY KNOWS ABOUT THIS. I have been contacted many times over the years by people in the agency who are disgusted at the flagrant nature of this relationship. People find it offensive because Whitney’s husband, Jake Lucas, is Chip’s employee. While Whitney was all over Facebook with Chip as a representative of the “trust” set up to accept donations, (y’all all know what I believe about that. When you muddy the waters with another entity handling money, it facilitates embezzlement or at least the appearance impropriety) it has some legitimacy, albeit the excess of the pictures is grating. Now Chip has created a Chief of Staff Position.

This is troubling because now Whitney is also an employee but she is over her own husband with her boss being her lover. Now I have heard a rumor that Chip’s wife might not be as ok with all this as once thought. People are even more sympathetic to Jake, Whitney’s husband, now. The insult of having YOUR boss sleeping with YOUR wife, is compounded by the injury of having BOTH of the holding your job in their hands. So should Jake not be ok with situation, he now has more to deal with if he exposes it or speaks out. And let’s face it, this is a sexual harassment suit that is too easy to prove if Whitney and Chip should fall out.

I received Whitney’s payroll info for June. I am blown away. I believe Chip has lost his mind. People were pissed Amber Southard made $80K years ago. No one is gonna like this one. She makes over $165K a year.
