ECSO Under Fire: Too Many “Chiefs”?

I know it’s been a minute since my last post. I have broken this post into 2 possibly 3 parts. The reason is there is a lot that has transpired on the periphery and also I’ve been waiting on public records requests. I’ve also gotten a couple that didn’t illuminate much, like the Chitney door swipes codes for the end of August through the 22nd of September. While I don’t have which doors were accessed, I said I wanted the gym swipes particularly. In reviewing those records, I found nothing unremarkable. There are only 2 eyebrow raising days. September 8th, they both arrived at 5:21 am and on the 18th, they both swiped at 10:20 pm approximately.  The rest show overlap that wasn’t, necessarily, indicative of anything. But I’ll post it. If y’all see anything that I missed, please let me know.

Next item of business, After I received this request, (which again wasn’t exculpatory in any way) I received a tip that was confirmed by other sources within the agency. Apparently, this request unsettled Chitney, and in the wake of the release of this info, Whitney, herself, made an announcement that the gym camera would no longer record; it will only be live feed. This is to save the cost of server storage. One camera?  How much difference would that truly make? What is the cost benefit of that robust decision?

I believe this could be a violation of accreditation, possible officer protection, and maybe OSHA requirements. I cannot seem to find any statute or regulation that says this but, intuitively, I would be concerned as an employee. Let’s face it; sometimes, officers do inappropriate things. For instance, Mark Smith or Mark Turner. I know this may be an extreme situation but would there be a record of that? Knowing that is a “free space” that isn’t being recorded, could that endanger an officer or another person? Isn’t that the purpose of having recordings, anywhere? Protecting officers in case of spontaneous acts that cannot be anticipated?  That’s just my thoughts on it. If there is something y’all can find, please let me know.

Next, in exploring, Whitney’s documented history and/or experience, I genuinely looked at what was available on the woman to validate the premise that “she brings value to the agency”. Surely, there is something in her history makes her more valuable that anyone else in that agency? So in Googling her. I found several articles.

The problem is there is no actual degree found from UWF in 2009. I asked a inner circle source, “Point blank, does she have a degree?” The response was “No”. Her Linkedin and the ECSO site also never mention a degree. So there’s that.

One article done by a reputable local writer asked Whitney who is female idol or woman who inspired her. She said, ” Mary Poppins. The way that she is unapologetically her own unique self, coupled with her ability to command respect while epitomizing class and elegance is awe-inspiring.  She consistently reminds us that ‘in every job that must be done, there is an element of fun’ and one need only adjust their perspective from time to time.” 

I’m sorry Mary Poppins? Seriously? Not Eleanor Roosevelt or Amelia Earhart. Nope, that flying nanny. This is anti-feminist movie; it is the pro-suffrage work of Mrs. Banks that creates the need for a nanny. I digress……but fuck, Mary Poppins???

I want to close this part of the post by talking about the lack of respect Whitney perceives she has. I was told she was pissed at being referred to as a bookkeeper. Now I am told a subordinate called her “Ma’am” and Chip chastised that person because Whitney is to be referred to as “Chief” same as Andy or Tommy. Perhaps I should refer to her as the “Queen of the ECSO” or her Highness. I don’t want a call from Chip about now supporting her even though, I believe in the merit system versus feminism. Maybe that’s why women don’t like me. And by the way, are we not in the South? Ma’am and Sir are indicative of respect. Wtaf?
